A Roman Catholic priest from Kerala [ Images ], Father Saji Panangala will solemnize the marriage of German international and the Golden boot winner Thomas Mueller [ Images ].

Father Saji who hails from Eravimangalam in Kaduthuruthy of Kottayam district, has been working as a parish priest in various places of Germany [ Images ] for the past eight years.

He has been in charge of the St Lawrence church at Pearl, which is forty-five kilometers from Munich.

Mueller has already been engaged to his friend and fiance Lisa. However a grand marriage will be conducted at the Church two months from now in which, Father Saji will conduct the rituals.

Father Saji is associated with the Mueller family, which comprises of his father Gerhard Mueller who is an engineer with BMW [ Images ], while his mother Claudia is an auditor with the local church. Mueller's younger brother Simayon is a student at the local school.

Father Saji reminisces that younger Mueller has been an Altar boy in the church before becoming serious in professional football.

Father Saji also told rediff.com over mail that Mueller had visited the Church after the World Cup, wherein he shared the golden boot for the most number of goals and also won the best young player award.

Mueller is only twenty and is expected to become one of the legends in the history of football in Germany.

17 films lined up for UTV Motion pictures in 2010-2011

UTV Motion Pictures that has so far belted out two major hits from its stable this year -- 'Raajneeti' and 'I Hate Luv Storys' -- has 17 films locked for 2010-2011 release and is still counting.

'We are the only ones to have seven films already locked for release next year and we believe that this year among the top five films, UTV will have three,' UTV Motion Pictures CEO Siddharth Roy Kapur told IANS.

'In fact we are quite close to achieving that since two of our films - 'Raajneeti' and 'I Hate Luv Storys' - have done so well,' he added.

In the remaining part of 2010, UTV will have 10 releases -- Anurag Kashyaap's 'Udaan', Aamir Khan's 'Peepli Live', Karan Johar's 'We Are Family', Vikas Bahl's 'Chillar Party', Tigmanshu Dhulia's 'Paan Singh Tomar', Vishal Bhardwaj's 'Saat Khoon Maaf', Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Guzaarish', Raaghav Dar's 'My Friend Pinto', Rajkumar Gupta's 'No One Killed Jessica' and Farah Khan's 'Tees Maar Khan'.

And they already have seven scripts locked for 2011.

These are Anees Bazmee's 'Thank You', Karan Johar's 'Dostana 2', Anurag Basu's 'Silence', Aamir Khan's 'Delhi Belly', Madhur Bhandarkar's 'Heroine', Anurag Kashyap's 'Wasseypur', and Dibakar Banerjee's 'Calcutta Jasoos'.

'For us its not just money, we believe in involving in every aspect of developing a film,' Kapur said.

UTV Motion Pictures are expecting a projected revenue of Rs.450 crore for the financial year 2010-11, which will be 95 percent up from the Rs.230 crore revenue in financial year 2009-10.

When asked on what criteria do they select the films they want to work with, Kapur clarified: 'Our first priority is the script, then the filmmaker and then whether the film fits in our slate for that particular year or not.'

'We have a stringent process of coming out with at least 11-15 films a year, so that is a consideration as well. If we feel that the film is not fitting the bill this year then we postpone it to the next year,' he added.

Bollywood has become the new target of hackers as just a few days after the lesser known actress/ item girl Meghna Naidu’s e-mail was hacked, ‘size zero’ actress Kareena Kapoor has become the latest victim of hacking.

News has it that after finishing the shoot schedule of ‘Agent Vinod’ in Morocco, Kareena was shocked to find her personal e-mail address hacked.

Talking to a news daily, a source said, “Kareena could not manage time to check her emails as she had been busy with the shooting of Agent Vinod in Morocco. So, as soon as she was back to India, she tried to check her emails. But to her utter surprise, she was unable to log into her account after trying several times. Then she suspected hacking. The hacked account is one of her oldest e-mail accounts so Kareena is very upset with the incident”.

Kareena is yet to file a formal police complaint as the source said, “She is very busy with the shooting of ‘Golmaal 3’ so she did not get time for that. The matter is being looked into by her office and they will file a police complaint soon”.

Ali Zafar appeals against Pak ban

Ali Zafar is disappointed despite Tere Bin Laden getting off to an encouraging start. His film will not open in 15 theatres across Pakistan as planned. It's been banned there despite conciliatory attempts of dropping Laden from the title.

"In a bid to check piracy, a film is screened in Pakistan for the censors days before the release. It was viewed on Monday and got the thumbs down. A second committee reviewed it and though a majority of the members liked it, it was not passed on security grounds," informs Zafar, who was also distributing the film in Pakistan with a partner.

He filed an appeal with the appellate tribunal and on Friday, even as the film opened across the globe, censors in Pakistan were reviewing it for a third time. At the time of going to press, decision was still pending from across the border but Zafar was optimistic. "There's a 50 per cent chance that it will get the go-ahead, given the positive buzz from the first night showing in UAE. People there were shocked by the ban because there's nothing objectionable in the film," Zafar reasons.

He insists that in Pakistan too, people, particularly those in the media, have not responded well to the verdict since it was a much-anticipated movie about Pakistan. "If anything, it's made me a bigger star there," says the singer-turned-actor who admits to getting a lot of offers from Bollywood. But he says he'll focus on them only after his promotional activity on Tere Bin Laden winds up. Buzz is that he's planning to shift to Mumbai and make a career in Bollywood.

"A lot of quotes have been attributed to me, even though I never made them," he retorts. "Like every artiste, I'm a nomad and will go anywhere work takes me. But my first home will always be Lahore."

A.R.Rahman to perform live after Oscars

While he will be first performing live on April 24 for the music release of Mani Ratnam’s Raavan for a select audience from Bollywood and the media at Yash Raj Studios, the next day Rahman’s performance will be the highlight of the IPL grand finale at DY Patil stadium. It’s a double treat for Rahman fans as he has not performed live in Mumbai for many years and certainly not after receiving the Oscar.

Ratnam’s favourite composer Rahman is taking a break from his current world tour to attend and perform during the music release of Raavan. Word that Rahman will be doing a live show in Mumbai has already begun to spread in the film industry.

The official spokesperson of Raavan said, “Never before had we started getting requests for an invite to a music function days in advance. Call it the Mani magic, the Rahman magic or their combination. Or maybe it’s the excitement of a Rahman concert as he hasn’t performed live in Mumbai for ages.”

On April 24, the composer is expected to perform a couple of tracks from Raavan and selected songs from all Mani Ratnam films he has scored for right from Roja to Guru. The Raavan concert is so special that Abhishek Bachchan, who will be shooting in Greece for Abhinay Deo’s Game, will cut short his shooting to fly back to Mumbai for a day.

The entire cast and crew of Raavan along with the entire Bachchan family will attend the Rahman concert on April 24.

A source said, “Mani Ratnam himself has planned this grand event. Only the cast and crew of the film are aware of it. Rahman is already in Mumbai and has started rehearsing for the same. Your prototypal flick as a director, did you hit a game plan in mind?

What was the most challenging sequence in the flick for you?

It was quite a challenge for me because we were also battling the weather which was rough. We had rattling little shooting instance because we had to shoot day sequences and we were surrounded by hills and the sun wouldn't rise before 9:30am and would set by 4:30pm. It was an incredible experience for me and a great honour. I hit famous Naseer bhai for a few years now and I hit worked with him in Maqbool and Omkara. So it wasn't a difficult task to intend in touch with him and give him the script. I was bright that he liked his persona and the news and then he was an asset on the sets. He is the category of mortal who makes a director's employ rattling easy. He is an intelligent and evolved mortal and you don't hit to talk about the principle with him, you hit to talk about the details and the nuances with him and that's really wonderful.

She plays an ordinary village woman whose husband has passed away and there is a rattling sweet and innocent musical side to her and on the other hand, there is also an edgier, darker, rougher side to her. So it was a rattling complex persona for Vidya but she pulled it off amazingly.

What made matters cushy for me was that when Vidya heard the script, she was rattling bright and excited about doing it. He has all the virtues to hit a great name as a phenomenal actor. To be open with you, when I finished my playscript I was completely grapheme on whom to patch because I took a year to write it. So when the question of casting came up apart from Naseer bhai I was not rattling sure who to sign. Vidya was suggested by Vishal. It just took digit meeting to realise that she is the right one. Earlier I had thought that Arshad's character Babban, should be played by someone who is rattling young, maybe note something but I wasn't bright with the choices in front of me. I always had Arshad at the backwards of my mind because I always desired to work with him so he was the last digit to be cast.

Infact Ishqiya is the category of news that Vishal himself has never attempted in the past, so it's a fresh point of view, and the way it is treated is rattling different. So undeniably I hit Vishal Bhardwaj's influence in my filmmaking but I do hit an identity of my possess and Ishqiya will prove that.

Sounding more relaxed than she did recently Kareena took time off from the very special family gathering to speak. “I’ve been running around frantically promoting my film. And then I was ailing for a week. I decided I had to be well for the festive season. Christmas was a very, very special occasion for my mom and sister. In Delhi, Kareena is overwhelmed by the response to her new film. “Everywhere I go I am swamped by compliments for the role. The length of the role didn’t matter. I’m just glad to be part of a historic happening. When Raj Kumar Hirani and Aamir asked me to be part of their film I jumped at it. I knew the film would be special because of Raju and Aamir, and I was right. As far as our cinema is concerned, Aamir is God.”

Reacting to the opinion that Kareena hardly has anything to do in her new film Kareena says, “Who says I’ve nothing to do? I’m very part of the main drama. Would the story move forward if you remove my character?”

You don’t really know what happened last night. The film is packed with a lot of emotions and it is very relatable. You can relate to one or the other character.

You've done movies of various genres... what's your favourite?
It’s very hard for me to say that. Right from my roles in Singh Is Kinng, De Dana Dan, Mithya, Ek Chaalis Ki Last Local to Raat Gayi Baat Gayi, everything is challenging and at the same time everything is easy. I don’t over-intellectualise the whole acting medium. I’m not working because I have to work. I’m working because I really enjoy doing so.

Are you happy with the way your career has shaped up so far?
I am. I had made a few mistakes, but I don’t regret anything. They have been learning experiences. I have come a long way, but I also have a long way to go...

is leaving no stone unturned as far as the promotion of the film is concerned. In this interview, he gives TOI a peek into a world - a li’l more than that of the 13-year-old Auro (the character he plays in the film). Excerpts from an interview:

Were you shocked, stunned, dumbfounded when Balki (the director of Paa) spoke about a role reversal?
Not really. I liked the concept and knew what was being thrown at me was a lovely challenge. Balki also needed an actor of Abhishek’s calibre to pull off the role of the father. The role reversal was just fine. About my character, Auro, Balki introduced me to such cases through books, manuals and DVDs. It also took him long to decide on the look. Newer stuff was also improvised once the camera started rolling. The angles too were distinct, so that the size of the head is not exposed. About me, I was rather happy, wondering all the while how a 13-year-old would react in my situation.

Did it feel like a trip back to childhood?
I tried my best to remember how I was at 13. There’s a lot of difference between kids then and kids now. I’ve closely observed my grandchildren - the mannerisms and the way they conduct themselves. Beyond that, it was all Balki’s doing. He gave me the lines, decided on my clothes and told me how to react to situations.

And didn’t memories of Abhishek’s childhood rush to your mind?
Not so much, I would say. As a child, Abhishek was quite a brat.

Abhishek has said that he got to bully you as long as the camera was rolling...
The film, which deals with this father and son, has a lovely screenplay. There’s a lot of camaraderie between Abhishek and me. Yes, we did fool around on the sets, when we were not shooting, but that’s expected when the two of us are together.

You played a progeric, the make-up for which would take you four-and-a-half hours and to take it off, another two hours. There’s also a song from you in a child’s voice. As an actor, you are constantly making and breaking records. After Paa, what’s the next big challenge?
I hope there’s one. I’m fortunate to be challenged like this and would certainly want more coming my way. If there’s none, creativity would start stagnating. I hope I’m never satisfied. Once there’s complacency, you stop looking for fresher avenues. This is something I do not want ever.

I think it’s something all of us need to go through. I have never tried out anything extraneous. I think it’s also about being comfortable with oneself.

How did Abhishek fare as a father?
Well, he was great. Fact is, Abhishek is a great companion. There’s a lot of bonding between us and that comes through in this film.

In an interview, Abhishek had said, ‘I’ve made this film for my dad and after watching the film, I just want dad to tell me that he’s proud of me.” So, did you tell him that after seeing the final cut?
I’m already very proud of Abhishek. He took the decision of producing this film and also managed to stay within the budget. There were no hiccups during production and even if there were, we weren’t aware of them. The way Abhishek has handled things has astonished me as a father.

You have said said recently, “The London and Dubai premieres stand cancelled. But Mumbai is on ... and Aamir and Shah Rukh have both assured me of their presence there.” How much do opinions of actors from the fraternity count?
We are all of the same family. About Aamir and Shah Rukh, I always exchange notes with them. It has always been so. I find out about their films and they find out about mine. Sometimes they come up with suggestions and I incorporate them. This exchange is really healthy. I’m looking forward to meeting the two of them at the premiere.

Salman Khan saves a life

While shooting an action sequence for director Anil Sharma’s film Veer in Rajasthan, Salman Khan lived up to the name of his character in the film and saved the life of a junior actor.

How?

It was a train robbery sequence in which Salman and a bunch of men were supposed to ride horses at a very fast pace next to a speeding train. Salman was precariously balanced between two horses, with a leg each of the horses ridden by junior actors Bunny and Vicky.

The shoot was in progress and the horses were loping at full pace when Bunny lost his balance on the horse he was riding and was about to fall to the ground, to be crushed under the hooves of the horses approaching from behind. But Salman Khan, showing an alertness of mind, immediately lunged forwards and grabbed Bunny by the collar.

Had Salman hesitated even for a moment, the unthinkable would have happened.

Shilpa feeling low on her Sangeet and Mehendi day

Shilpa Shetty is all set to tie the knot with her fiancé Raj Kundra on Sunday, but the actress is feeling quite low today, on the occasion of her Sangeet and Mehendi ceremony. The reason is that Shilpa’s dad would not be able to join daughter on her Sangeet ceremony at her best friend Kiran Bawa`s bungalow in Khandala, as he is recovering from Malaria in hospital.

A source close to Shilpa said, "Poor Shilpa, her sister Shamita and their mother Sunanda are all feeling very low as her dad Surendra Shetty was suddenly taken to the ICU on Thursday night at the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Andheri.

However, he will hopefully be there tomorrow on the wedding day for Kanyadaan.

"Thank God everything was diagnosed overnight and her dad was given the correct treatment on time or he wouldn`t have been able to do the Kanyadaan. If that had happened, Shilpa would have been devastated. Even now, the whole thing has cast a shadow on the marriage proceedings, but Shilpa is happy that her dad will be able to give her away!" the source added.

Nevertheless, reports reveal that family members will be performing something special for her, and dance performances will rock the show. Special highlight of the evening will be a dance performance by Raj and Shilpa on the romantic song ‘Teri Ore’ from ‘Singh is Kinng’. Pop singer Daler Mehendi is also expected to add to the cheer with his act.

A source confirmed, "Shilpa will be wearing a hot pink silk kaftan with zari work and Swarovski crystals done by Tarun Tahiliani (who has also designed the wedding sari).”

Raj will also be casually attired. Shamita will be wearing a gold and peach salwar kameez designed by Manish Malhotra today, and for the wedding, an anarkali-cut salwar-kameez in mauve and blue by Tarun Tahiliani.

On the other hand, talking about her outfits, Shamita Shetty said, "I have barely had time to get my outfits stitched for Shilpa`s wedding as I left BB house only a week ago. For Shilpa`s wedding I have two options a lehenga or a sari.”
